Verizon Launches LG Cosmos Messaging Device

Mobile phone carrier Verizon Wireless and LG Electronics MobileComm U.S.A., Inc. (LG Mobile Phones) announced the launch of a new handset for messaging enthusiasts on Verizon's network, the LG Cosmos. The new device is set to become available for purchase with Big Red on March 25, and users will find it in Verizon Wireless Communications Stores and online on the carrier's website.

The new LG Cosmos sports a slide-out QWERTY keyboard that will offer fast and easy text messaging, while also boasting built-in social networking capabilities. Through the new device, Verizon Wireless users will find it easy to stay connected with their friends and family no matter where they are, the wireless operator notes.

Among the key features of the new device, we can count:
- Compact, friendly and stylish candy bar phone with a rounded shape and metallic finish
- Web-based e-mail, instant messaging and chat
- Text, picture and voice messaging
- Access to Twitter, Facebook, MySpace and other social networking sites
- Send calendar events, contact information and print photos via Bluetooth
- Dedicated favorites shortcut keys for up to 10 contacts
- GPS support for enhanced location accuracy
- Micro USB charging port
- USB charging via computer

At the same time, the new mobile phone comes with Bluetooth 2.1 capabilities and a 1.3-megapixel photo snapper, as well as with one-touch speaker phone, not to mention that it includes voice clarity adjusting features, based on the surrounding noise level. Users will also benefit from a series of speaker-independent voice commands, such as Call, Send Msg To, Go To, Check, Contacts, Search, Redial, My Verizon and Help.

The new device is set to become available for purchase on Thursday, March 25, priced at $29.99 after a $50 mail-in rebate and upon the signing of a two-year contract agreement with the wireless carrier.
