Verbatim may be more of a storage solutions developer, but it knows how to do other things from time to time, like it did last week, when it delivered a new wireless mouse for desktops.

The more time passes, the faster the IT industry moves closer to a cable-free era, what with both the consumer and enterprise segment seeking less cable clutter.

It is for this reason that wireless connectivity and I/O technologies have been pushed so intensively over the past years.

Today, wireless networking is a default feature on any system and most consumer electronics, especially mobile devices like tablets and smarphones.

As for desktops, besides cable-less Ethernet, there exist many wireless peripherals like mice, keyboards, headphones, etc.

The Verbatim Wireless Edge mouse is one such peripheral, featuring 2.4 GHz wireless technology and using a Nano receiver that needs only be plugged in the PC's USB port and left there.

Verbatim made sure that its creation has a rubberized but smooth grip, so that users may have control of it while still enjoying a measure of comfort.

“The Ergo Mouse is a prime example of Verbatim’s dedication to providing consumers with cutting-edge accessories that combine style, reliability and comfort for the ultimate computing experience,” said Ron Hanafin, Verbatim Product Manager, Accessories & Peripherals.

“The mouse’s stylish, yet functional design makes it great for ongoing use both at home and in the office.”

Online stores should already have the Verbatim Wireless Edge mouse up for order, with a price of $29.99 and prospective buyers will be able to choose between red, blue and black color options. Two AAA batteries are included.

Finally, for wide compatibility, the outfit made sure the newcomer support not just the Microsoft Windows Operating System (Windows 7, XP, 2000, Vista) but also Mac OS 10.4.X and higher.
