14 DAY TRIAL // VelvetPuffin announced the launch of a social networking service that allows its users to communicate, create and share user-generated content using a mobile phone or a desktop computer. Combining all the popular features usually found in social networking sites, the service allows users to send messages, create polls, send photos and video, and even includes a blogging feature.

VelvetPuffin allows its users to stay connected and communicate via Instant Messaging. VelvetPuffin has its own IM community and it also allows users to connect to other IM accounts including AOL, Yahoo! and MSN. VelvetPuffin's IM structure allows its users to be alerted whenever new shared content is available.
Another useful feature implemented by VelvetPuffin is the ability to create polls. VelvetPuffin users don't have to worry about calling multiple people to get everyone to agree on weekend plans. All they need to do is set-up an online poll and invite their VelvetPuffin friends to vote, no matter where they happen to be. Results are then aggregated and shared with the voters.
Video and photo sharing is also available from within VelvetPuffin. The video sharing feature ensures that the video is delivered to VelvetPuffin users, either on their mobile phone or desktop computer, and also allows users to access, view and share YouTube, Google Video and Metacafe videos. In the case of photos, VelvetPuffin allows users to post photos which can be viewed by friends from their mobile phone or desktop computer. Users are alerted via Instant Messaging whenever new postings occur.
VelvetPuffin also includes a blogging feature, that allows users to create, maintain and share their blog. As in the case of photos, users are notified when the blog is updated.
