Intex Technologies, an Indian manufacturer specialized in IT hardware, mobile phones and electronics has just announced the launch of India's first mobile phone with built-in projector, during an event graced by Bollywood actor Prachi Desai

V.SHOW IN8810 allows users to project movies, pictures, music videos (saved in the phone and from Internet) and other Internet content, on a 61 inches of screen/wall with a high intensity projection of 10 lumens and QWVGA resolution.

Users can enjoy the projection from a distance of up to 12 feet, between the screen/wall and the phone.

The new handset offers up to 3 hours of projection time and a film quality of up to 25 FPS (frames pers second), which can be compared with FPS used in movies.

The LED technology based projection lamp has life of 20,000 hours so after that, the quality will drop or deteriorate.

Speaking at the event, Ramesh A. Vaswani, Executive Vice Chairman, Intex Technologies, said, “INTEX V.SHOW is in sync with the company’s aim of providing useful innovation and quality products to its consumers in keeping with its philosophy of launching Life Version 2.0 products. It symbolizes our technological advancement and continued focus on R&D.”

“I am confident that INTEX V.SHOW change the way people watch movies, videos, picture galleries and even read e-Books on their mobile phones. If positioned judiciously, it could emerge as a powerful infotainment tool too. We are in touch with leading chip development companies of the world for future enhancements in this model,” added Vaswani.

Other features include the addition of “Bolt” Internet browser and a Tripod stand as one of the accessories in the box, which can be user for an easier hands-free visual experience.

The phone also features a 3.2-inch touch-screen and Dual SIM compatibility with dual Screen mode (phone screen mode and projector screen mode are simultaneously active).

The phone boasts 64 MB internal memory, as well as microSD card for memory expansion (up to 8 GB).

V.Show IN8810 is expected to be available in India from December 1st for Rs. 12,000 (about $263).
