Last week, wireless carrier AT&T announced new data plans put in place for its subscribers, some of which affected the originally unveiled deal for the new Apple iPad 3G device, yet it seems that those users who already ordered or purchased the device would benefit from the older $29.99 unlimited plan. According to the latest news around the web, the carrier will offer the option even to those who ordered the device but did not receive it as of June 7, when the new data plans are put in place.

All AT&T subscribers who purchased the iPad before June 7 will be able to benefit from the unlimited plan, it seems. This includes those who ordered the slate but did not receive it as of yet. For what it's worth, a lot of users will rejoice when learning this, especially since the iPad has reportedly seen short supply in some areas around the country. The new plans offered by the carrier include a $15 per month plan that contains 200 MB of data, and a $25 per month plan that brings 2GB of data.

When announcing the new wireless data plans, AT&T said that new iPad customers wouldn't be able to choose the $29.99 unlimited plan anymore starting with June 7, as it should be replaced with the $25 per month 2 GB plan. “iPad customers will continue to pre-pay for their wireless data plan and no contract is required,” the company stated, adding that existing iPad customers can choose to keep the existing plan or switch to the new one.

“AT&T will honor the $29.99 unlimited data pricing for customers who order iPad by June 7,” a company's representative stated recently, according to an article on The New York Times. The device enjoys high demand, with shipments for online orders delayed by more than a week. Apple plans on addressing this issue, as an Apple spokeswoman reportedly said, “Demand for iPads has been off the charts. We are working hard to get iPads into customer’s hands as quickly as possible.”
