It is a mid-tower enclosure with a “sophisticated cutting-edge look”

If we didn't know better, we would be tempted to believe that Thermaltake has decided to release an Urban or Chaser series PC enclosure every other week. We've already seen the Urban S21, the Chaser A31, Chaser A41, and even the Chaser A71 Full-Tower.

One might even say that the company seeks to bring the Urban series to the same level as the Chaser. After all, there are quite a few more Chaser than Urban models, as can easily be seen here.

The Urban S21 was a good starter, but the Urban S31 seeks to bring even more features to mainstream users.

Made out of steel and brushed aluminum, it has a mesh front door panel and a “sophisticated look also can be used to match other sleek designs found in your home theater installation.”

Inside, there is room for six hard disk drives or solid-state drives (3.5 / 2.5-inch drive bays) and three 5.25-inch drive bays (for ODDs, fan controllers, water cooling reservoirs, etc.).

Seven expansion slots ensure that buyers can install all the graphics cards, network adapters, sound boards or other AIBs (add-in-boards) they like.

If people want a multi-GPU setup (AMD CrossFireX or NVIDIA SLI), they won’t have any problems, though that isn't exactly a mid-range plan.

But we digress. Thermaltake further added value to its product by including a docking station on the top. This has become a fairly common asset on mid- to high-end cases really.

It can receive 2.5-inch and 3.5-inch SATA hard disk drives, and the hot-swap capabilities make sure no problems arise when connecting or removing them.

Furthermore, Thermaltake chose tool-less drive installation for both the ODD and HDD bays.

As for cooling, there are two pre-installed 120mm fans, and mounting holes for a bunch of extra spinners.

All in all, the Thermaltake Urban S31 measures 500 x 206 x 520 mm, which translates into 19.7 x 8.1 x 20.5 inch inches.
