Reality Pump and Topware are very proud to announce the release dates for the second installment in the Two Worlds role-playing game series: September 14, 2010, in the United States, Canada and South America, and September 17, 2010 for the UK. Two Worlds II will be available on all major platforms, the Xbox 360, the PlayStation 3 and the PC. It was first shown at the PAX East game festival in 2010, receiving generally favorable previews.

When the official announcement was made, Richard Iggo, vice president of marketing at SouthPeak, stated, “Topware and Reality Pump have spent a tremendous amount of time listening to feedback based on the original game, if the reaction we’ve seen so far from the press is indicative of what’s to come, we have a game that will be seen as a benchmark in the genre. ‘Epic’ is a word that’s overused and worn-out when it comes to games like this, so we’ve created a new word for Two Worlds II: Astronepic. Yeah, it’s that good.”

Two Worlds II is set in the fantasy world of Antaloor, and continues the storyline of the previous title. It is built upon an all-new game engine that, developers say, renders a “strong atmosphere and dazzling visuals” and incorporates technologies such as Real Eye Adaptation, HD Dynamic Motion Capture, and Multi-Source Dynamic Lighting, which, the developers claim, “will bring the world of Antaloor alive like never before as a true role-player’s paradise.” They are also expecting Two Worlds II to push the RPG genre in new directions.

The first title in the series has often been compared with another well-known role playing game, The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, due to its real-time three dimensional landscape and character classes that have no fixed attributes, but it only received mixed opinions upon its release.
