Harmonix and MTV Games, the two entities that are in charge of guiding the destiny of the Rock Band franchise, have announced that today gamers who are interested in getting more tracks for their music simulation game will be able to pick up a host of new songs from rock legends Queen, all of them designed to take advantage of the Pro modes and the keyboard support included in the third installment of the series.

The new content will be available for those who play Rock Band 3 on the PlayStation 3 from Sony, the Xbox 360 from Microsoft and the Nintendo Wii.

Queen are well known for their evolving and complex music but also for the death of their front man Freddie Mercury, who fell to AIDS.

The band formed in 1970 in England, Queen was composed of Mercury and guitarist Brian May, bass player John Deacon and drum man Roger Taylor and went on to deliver 15 studio concerts and some of the best live performances in the industry.

Queen has been featured in Rock Band 2 via DLC and the LEGO version of the music simulation title.

The Queen Extravaganza Pack 01 for Rock Band 3 will include:

“Hammer to Fall” “Keep Yourself Alive” “Now I’m Here” “Play the Game” “Tenement Funster” “We Are the Champions” “We Will Rock You”

The following songs will get enhancements in order to take advantage of the Pro mode and keyboard support in the new game:

“I Want It All” “I Want To Break Free” “Killer Queen” “One Vision” “Somebody To Love” “Under Pressure”

The Queen Extravaganza Pack 01 will sell for 800 Microsoft Points, 1,000 Wii Points or 9.99 dollars, while the Enhanced Pack will sell for the equivalent of 10.99 dollars.
