Samsung Electronics showcased two stand-out smartphones, the SGH-i520 and SGH-i600, as part of its impressive lineup at 3GSM World Congress.

The sleek and stylish Samsung i520 smartphone is a super-slim slider handset, measuring just 17.9mm and weighing only 99g. The new smartphone i520 uses Symbian OS Version 9.2 (S60 3 rd Edition Feature Package spec 1) to access the internet and download content up to five times faster than competing models, while also supporting 1.8Mbps HSDPA technology and featuring a sophisticated touch-sensitive key pad for convenient use and attractive design.

The i520 is designed to make all users' online life as convenient and enjoyable as possible. It supports a 2 megapixel camera and a 2.3''wide screen to show the entire internet page, similar to a regular PC view. Meanwhile, the Bluetooth 2.0 EDR provides high-speed data transmission, while the phone is based on the Vodafone customized UI (TPP VCP), adapted from the Symbian/S60 operating system. This super-slim function packed mobile is the perfect tool for users who want to chat, read, and send emails from their mobiles.

The i600 is the first product in the Ultra Messaging line and Samsung will introduce stylish yet powerful messaging devices to the market in 2007. Measuring only 11.8mm and weighing a mere 105g, the Samsung Ultra Messaging i600 seems to be the world's thinnest 3G smart phone with a full QWERTY keyboard. It blends the feature-rich, desktop functionality of the Windows Mobile 5.0 platform with extensive multimedia capabilities to help people work on the go, stay in touch with family and friends or just have fun.

The Samsung Ultra Messaging i600 supports the HSDPA network for faster data transfer speeds, as well as seamless communications through high-speed connectivity via Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 2.0 EDR. It is also the first smart phone to support web applications such as podcasting and RSS Reader.

A key feature of the continuing success of the Ultra Messaging i600 is its QWERTY keyboard with wheel key, perfectly designed for composing messages or e-mails. In addition to this, the customized thumbwheel makes navigation simpler than ever.

The i600 is already available in several European countries and the i520 will be introduced in the second quarter of this year.
