Verizon is going to release two new CDMA compatible Samsung phones, the U620 and the U740.

Each of these phones offers new and interesting features. While with U620, users can watch TV through V-CAST Mobile TV, U740 is a compact device that offers the possibility of using the best features you would normally find in a mobile, PDA or e-mail messenger.

The U620 has a compact slider design and features EV-DO high-speed data transmission with V-CAST services, stereo Bluetooth, a 1.3 megapixel camera, a MicroSD slot and also speech to text voice recognition. It will also be one of Verizon's first mobile phones to have MediaFLO mobile television service.

The U740 has mainly the same features as the U620, the 1.3 megapixel autofocus camera with flash, the MicroSD slot, Bluetooth, a 262k-colour display and the EV-DO. While it isn't capable of MediaFLO, it does have something U620 doesn't: a very useful QWERTY keyboard, and a clamshell design. Customers can use the phone in two ways as it can either be opened normally, in portrait mode, or in landscape for data or texting (when the QWERTY keypad really comes in handy).

There is no information about the release date or the price of the handsets.
