While Sony Ericsson's enthusiastic fans keep on creating amazing concept phones that have little chances to become real devices, the Swedish-Japanese company minds its own business and has recently unveiled two new handsets from the Cyber-shot series: Sony Ericsson W61S and Sony Ericsson W62S, both showcased in Japan.

It is a bit strange for a Cyber-shot phone to have a name that starts with "W", as the W stands for Sony Ericsson's Walkman series, which (everyones knows) mainly includes music phones. However, the W might mean the phones are a combination of Cyber-shot and Walkman, but from the few specs available we can't tell if this is indeed true.

Sony Ericsson W61S comes in a slider form and packs a 5.1 Megapixel camera with 3x optical zoom, Auto focus, LED flash, automatic lens cover and ISO1600 capability, to provide good quality photos in any lighting condition. The phone also comes with CDMA2000 connectivity, 2.8 inches WVGA display, 1x EV-DO Rev.A and microSD card support for extended memory.

Sony Ericsson W62S is a handset that comes in a clamshell form and packs a 2 Megapixel camera, a 2.7 inch display with 240 x 432 pixel resolution and microSD card support for of up to 2GB. The phone will bbe available in three color schemes.

Since Japan is known for having the most users that watch TV on mobiles, the new phones could come with the Mobile TV feature too (their large screens are suitable for this).

There are no details about how much these two Cyber-shot phones cost, but they will be launched in March via KDDI, one of the leading Japanese mobile operators. Hopefully, the handsets will reach other markets too.
