Turbo SIM, the iPhone Unlocking Solution, Sold Out

- Get it while it's hot

By: Elena Balan, Communications News Editor

Just a few days ago, some hackers have posted their new solution for cracking the iPhone. It involved using a Turbo SIM card, one product which has sold out since the solution has been posted.

After a
month and a half of various attempts at unlocking the iPhone in order to make it fully work with any SIM card support, some hackers have finally pulled it through. Their main product in the new solution was a Turbo SIM card. This is a Czech made tool which acts as conductor between the real SIM card and the iPhone. This has managed to break the AT&T carrier lock and make it possible to use any other SIM card from various carriers in order to place calls and use all of the iPhone's capabilities.

The solution is an incredibly simple one and asks for only little investment, as the Turbo SIM comes at the price of USD 80. That is incredibly less than what AT&T is charging on their monthly data plan and also an incredibly affordable solution for having a fully working iPhone on markets where the device is not yet supported by telecom operators.

The fact that the Turbo SIM stock has run out can be also be put on the fact that a large number of unlocked iPhones have been put up for sale in Hong Kong. These devices have been cracked and customized to work within Chinese boundaries with the help of the newly discovered Turbo SIM method.

The number of cracked iPhones that have been put out for sale is a huge one, which might account for a large part of the problem. Each cracked handset sold in this country has been offered at the price of USD 2000, a cost much higher than AT&T’s one on the USD market. The large number of iPhone users that wish to break loose from the constraints of this subscription has also increased the number of Turbo SIMs which have been sold until now.
