Turbine and Warner Bros. announce that they are partnering up to release The Lord of the Rings Online: Mines of Moria for retail in North America. It seems that the announcement is a direct result of Warner Bros. pumping more than 50 million dollars into the development of Turbine earlier this year.

The announcement also hints to the fact that the title will be offered to gamers in two different retailing variants and it seems that the game will also be available for download to people that are already subscribing to The Lord of the Rings Online MMO.

The Lord of the Rings Online: Mines of Moria Complete Edition will, as the name implies, include the complete version of The Lord of the Rings Online: Shadows of Angmar with all the content updates which Turbine has released since the MMO debuted. The company says that the complete package will be offered for retail at a discount price in an effort to get new players to jump on board.

The Lord of the Rings Online: Mines of Moria Collector's Edition is the other retail package. It is a limited release that offers exclusive content. There's a leather-bound book packaging and the buyer gets three tokens that can be exchanged in the game for three of the eight different items. Fans will also get a cloth map, a gold-plated ring with chain and pouch, a poster, the "The Lord of the Rings Online Art and Music Collection", a complete soundtrack and a game guide.

Jim Crowley, president and CEO of Turbine, stated, "We are excited to self publish The Lord of the Rings Online: Mines of Moria and to partner with Warner Bros. to distribute the title at retail this fall. Mines of Moria introduces breakthrough content and features including our Legendary Item system that will revolutionize the way players advance and customize their unique heroes".
