Finnish developer Frozenbyte has just released Trine 2 yesterday on Steam, for the PC and Mac platforms, and has also deployed the launch trailer for the puzzle platformer, while discussing plans about downloadable content for the title.

Trine 2 already impressed us, as you could tell from yesterday’s quick look, and it seems that Frozenbyte wants to enhance the experience with new add-ons, saying to VG247 that around four hours of content will be delivered through DLC.

What’s more, new modes might also be rolled out for the Steam version of the game, including something called the Last Wizard Standing, although no other details were given. If these modes prove to be popular, Frozenbyte promises that the console editions of the game, for the PlayStation 3 or Xbox 360, might also see their release.

Trine 2 is currently out just for the PC and Mac, via Steam, and will be released throughout this month and the beginning of 2012 for the PS3, Xbox 360 or Linux. Until then, check out the launch trailer for the game above.
