After a shaky confirmation last month, Finnish developer Frozenbyte has confirmed just when gamers can get their hands on its upcoming Trine 2 title, which is going to start appearing tomorrow, on Steam, and then for other platforms like the PS3 or Xbox 360.

Trine 1 impressed through its clever puzzles and side scrolling mechanics, so the sequel wants to improve on the already sharp mechanics with enhanced visuals and more set piece moments.

Now, fans can finally mark their calendars for the release of the game, as Trine 2 will be out on December 7, on Steam, where it’s going to be cross platform compatible, meaning it can be experienced both on PC and Mac.

After that, console owners can also enjoy the game, as it’s out on December 21, for North American PlayStation 3 owners, and one day later, December 22, for Xbox 360 owners from around the world. A European PSN release is also expected around that same time.

In early 2012, Trine 2 will be released without any sort of DRM, alongside a Linux version.
