Last month, ASUS announced its upcoming strategy for 2014, which included the release of a pair of new Chromebooks.

Now industry sources claim that ASUS is not the only brand vendor that will go down the Chrome road in the year to come, reports Ubergizmo.

According to them, Toshiba will also jump on the Chromebook bandwagon, pushing out Intel Haswell-powered devices.

Acer has recently unveiled its first touch-screen Chrome laptop that sells for $299 / €220. ASUS will see the launch of two models, an 11-inch one and a 13.3-incher in 2014. Prices for the ASUS laptops will range between $199 / €87 and $329 / €242, say the sources.

Toshiba is also expected to unveil models from the Google family, with the company being busy at outsourcing production to Inventec, at the moment.

Chromebook sales are expected to improve in 2014, but at the moment they make up 5% of the global notebook shipments, which is viewed as encouraging.
