Some tornadoes are good for our planet

Even though it might sound scary at first, Ignition Entertainment and game developers Success have teamed up to bring Tornado to North America. However, there is no reason to worry, since the tornadoes they bring are 100% virtual and they will never leave the small screens of the Nintendo DS handheld.

Tornado seems to have a similar concept to Beautiful Katamari, but this is just an impression given by the official game description (yes, there are no screenshots released yet to prove one thing or another). So... players will join forces with the Cosmic Cleaners brigade, an organization which is set to restore all of the Earth's buildings, vehicles, inhabitants and so on - stolen by the mischievous Prince (yes, just Prince) and his Black Hole Device. You will have to travel to the strangely named Planet 69 and use the home made Tornado Machine to literally uproot everything in your path in an effort to take back the stolen stuff and return it to Earth. And this sounds pretty Katamari to me.

Players will control the game by using a combination of stylus and microphone activated functions and, together with the story mode, they will get the chance to test their skills in a few other gameplay modes. Arcade Mode allows you to replay any completed level and try to pick up any objects you missed when you first completed the mission; Battle Mode, as the name suggests, allows you to challenge a friend for a wireless head to head battle; Bonus Mode allows you to see everything you have collected while playing and listen to the soundtrack pieces you've picked up along the way.

"After the successes of Zoo Keeper on DS, we at Ignition Entertainment are thrilled be working with the talented team over at Success once again," said Ajay Chadha, President of Ignition Entertainment. "Their skill at developing fun and creative games has never ceased to amaze us."

Tornado will be released this fall, exclusively for the Nintendo DS.
