For many months now, Tori Spelling’s weight has not ceased to fascinate tabs and her fans alike. The reality star lost a lot of weight in almost record time after becoming a mom for the second time, with reports swirling that she was actually starving herself to do so. In her latest book, “Uncharted TerriTORI,” Tori explains how she lost so many pounds, AceShowbiz informs.

As we also noted on several past occasions, the television star has often felt the need to take a public stand and rubbish reports that she had some kind of eating disorder and that she was deliberately putting her health on the line in order to be skinny again. In May this year, for instance, she even agreed to pose in her swimsuit to prove that, though thin, she was toned and healthy. Her book should put all those eating disorder rumors to rest, Spelling hopes.

“Actress Tori Spelling has opened up about the mystery stomach ailment which left her hospitalized last year – she was suffering from swine flu. The former ‘Beverly Hills, 90210’ star sparked fears for her health in September when she was admitted to a Los Angeles hospital with severe abdominal pains. She was discharged hours later and her representative refused to comment on the diagnosis, stating Spelling had to undergo further tests at a later date. She was forced to return to hospital again in November 2009 after experiencing more stomach pains and she spent 10 days under doctors’ care,” AceShowbiz says.

Apparently, while in hospital, Tori was diagnosed with the swine flu, which is also why she started to lose so much weight at such an alarming speed. Obviously, she couldn’t come clean with the diagnosis because she’d risk being ridiculed again and she was in no position to stand that anymore, Tori says. The good news is that Spelling is on her way to recovery and has already started gaining weight. In fact, she says, she’s only a few pounds away from her ideal weight.

“I was horrified. Swine flu was still a new phenomenon. News reports were describing a killer virus. If they got wind of my diagnosis the press would have a field day. Would they add this to the checklist? First I had a horse face, now I had the pig flu. Now I’m on probiotics and vitamins... I weigh 101 (pounds) – my goal weight is 115. Finally I feel there’s hope,” the actress explains.
