Oh, how some of us have been waiting for this day to arrive! Tomb Raider Anniversary is finally available as a demo for the PC platform. Thus, Softpedia has made the PC demo available for you to enjoy right now. Click HERE to download.

It has been known for quite some time now that Anniversary is an enhanced remake of the original 1996 PSX best-seller. However, this latest installment from Eidos has been built using the Tomb Raider: Legend engine. Also, gamers should know that Anniversaryis not a total remake of the original title. The game follows the same basic plot and builds on it. It is supposed to feature the original game key moments and all the levels present on the original game rebuilt from scratch to match with Lara's new abilities.

I'm not going to spoil it for you, so here are some already known facts about the game. Confirmed locations and levels are:

- Peru (with the Lost Valley appearing in the recent trailer) - Greece, with St. Francis Folly, Colosseum, Palace Midas, The Cistern, and the Tomb of Tihocan. - Egypt (where the last piece of the Scion is), with the City of Khamoon, Obelisk of Khamoon, and the Sanctuary of the Scion - Atlantis with, Natla's Mines, Atlantis, and the Great Pyramid. - Lara's Home (the biggest, most detailed mansion yet as PSW Magazine reckons)

As for the gameplay elements:

Zip and Alister are gone (not dead of course, but they weren't even concept art when the first TR was developed) no headset, PDA, PLS or Binoculars, but the grapple has returned in the form of a hook grapple (not magnetic) Dual Uzis and the shotguns are confirmed to make a return, while a recent official screenshot has shown holstered black pistols believed to be the magnums, present in the original Tomb Raider.

Enemies

- Bats - Wolves - Rats - Bears - Black Panthers - Crocodiles - Raptors - Gorillas - Lions - the T-Rex - Cat Mummies - Winged Mutant and the Giant Mutant (from Atlantis) - Larson Conway, Pierre DuPont and Jacqueline Natla are the only human enemies

Of course, just like any other TR game, secrets will play a certain role, but this time, collecting them will be even more crucial to progress. Several costumes might be unlockable as well, such as Lara's swim, suit in TR II. OK, enough babbling.
