Actor says he'd try his hand at the 007 agent with just one condition

Should Daniel Craig ever start thinking about hanging up his tuxedos and guns, and call it a day on James Bond, fans of the franchise should not despair: a possible replacement could be Tom Hardy, as Tom himself says.

In a new interview, the actor, who's been riding the wave ever since “Inception” for mainstream audiences (and ever since “Bronson” for critics and loyal fans), reveals he could be tempted to give 007 a try.

However, he'd only consider it if Chris Nolan would also be on board.

As any respectable movie buff must know, Nolan directed Hardy in both “Inception” and the upcoming Batman film, “The Dark Knight Rises,” in which Tom plays the villain Bane.

“I’d love to play Bond with Chris Nolan director or something, it would be awesome,” Hardy says, as cited by Metro.

The same publication reports that the official synopsis for the highly anticipated Batman film, which won't be out in theaters until June this year, has been released.

“When Commissioner Gordon stumbles upon a plot to destroy the city from within, Bruce Wayne gets back into action as the Batman,” the synopsis reads.

“Waiting for him is the mysterious Selina Kyle and Bane, a lethal adversary on a crusade to tear apart Batman's legacy piece by piece,” adds the same.

Hardy was most recently seen in the romantic / action comedy “This Means War,” starring Chris Pine and Reese Witherspoon.

Out on Valentine's Day, the film failed to make a powerful impression on both critics and the box office, but Hardy did get several nods from the critic community for showing he could do comedy just as well as he did action and drama.

However, his actual chances of ever doing a James Bond movie are close to zero right now: word online has it that Daniel Craig, the current star of the franchise, has already signed on for five more films, besides the upcoming “Skyfall.”
