As some of you will remember, we've talked yesterday about a fairly interesting pair of USB speakers for the Mac systems developed by Stem Innovation, and now, the company's back with yet another offering for the owners of Apple devices, namely the TimeCommand, an App-Enhanced Audio Alarm Dock for iPod, iPhone and iPad.

The alarm clock function represents, quite obviously, the TimeCommand's main selling point, with the SafeWake features ensuring that you will wake on time by eliminating the causes of most alarm failures: battery-backup protects against power interruptions, alarm settings are automatically transferred from app-to-clock and clock-to-app, and time sets automatically when you dock your Apple device.

Plus, with iOS 4.1 or later, the app supports multi-tasking, continuing to operate in the background and sounding alarms even when iPod, iPhone or iPad is asleep and locked.

We've mentioned that the device from Stem Innovation works with all of the Apple handheld products, and the reason why this enhanced level of versatility is possible is related directly to the TimeCommand's pivoting dock connector, that accommodates devices in or out of protective cases.

It's also quite interesting to point out that TimeCommand can become even more versatile, should the user decide to download certain specific applications onto their iPad/iPhone/iPod, such as the Stem:Connect app, which allows one to control a bedside lamp's behavior, or the Wake-by-Light, which allows TimeCommand to automatically switch the lamp off when the user goes to sleep or activate the lamp when an alarm sounds.

Plus, the Stem:Sonic iQ acoustic system delivers superior ambient room audio, should you decide to employ the TimeCommand for audio playback.

Stem Innovation’s TimeCommand audio alarm dock is available now from Apple retail stores and is priced at $100, which is a pretty fair price point, given the seriously enhanced level of versatility this thing can provide.
