Staff at the Woburn Safari Park in England is pleased to announce that this facility is now home to three Somali wild ass foals.

The foals were all fathered by 18-year-old Simon, who arrived to this wildlife park at the beginning of 2012 at the way from Poland.

The foals haven't been named yet, but keepers promise to soon find suitable monikers for them.

Vets say that the foals, all of which are males, are healthy and active, Zoo Borns reports. They have bonded well with their mothers, and the latter are keeping a close eye on them at all times.

Presently, this species is listed as a critically endangered one, the same source tells us. Conservationists say that merely 280-300 Somali wild asses are left in the wild, which is why efforts must be made to breed them in captivity.
