The development team at Eidos Montreal continues to deliver important information for its upcoming Thief video game via a new developer diary that focuses on the aims of Garrett and the story that the game will tell.

Steven Gallagher, the narrative director working on the game, says that a small team of writers has created the core story, the in-game content, and the dialog and that it is all focused on the ways Garrett is dealing with his past and his abilities.

The developer says that the City is designed to be a depressive place, a dystopia where almost no one is happy.

The Baron, the current leader, is determined to oppress the citizens as long as he can implement his much desired industrial revolution.

Thief will be out on the PC, the PlayStation 4, PS3, the Xbox One, and the 360 in 2014.
