With all the new hardware coming out and enabling new gaming systems, it makes sense that peripheral makers would also get to work, and Thermaltake has done this very thing, the newest result being a new keyboard.

Thermaltake is known worldwide for making all sorts of peripherals and PC cases, so it stand to reason that it would not miss this new wave of hardware products.

By wave of products, in this instance, we mean all the Z68 motherboards that were launched and adopted by custom gaming PC makers like Maingear and iBuyPower, among others.

Regardless, since new gaming PCs are bound to come into existence over the next few months, the outfit figured it a good time to unleash a new mechanical gaming keyboard.

The device in question goes by the name of Tt eSports Meka G Unit and, as some may or may not have guessed form the name, it is of the mechanical variety.

This particular peripheral is actually a variation of the Meka G and can swap between the normal mode and the “Game Mode,” the latter minimizing the risk of accidental keystrokes.

One asset is comprised of the Cherry Black switches, which are applied to all keys and ensure that the tactile feedback exists but is not accompanied by the clicking noise usually made when tapping them.

This allows one to fully immerse himself or herself in whatever game one happens to be playing, since there won't be much noise to distract them.

There is also the ISS (Instant Shift System), an advanced macro key shifting function which can keep track of all 60 macro keys in a single profile.

Furthermore, Thermaltake threw in a key illumination system, made individually for each button, and only those keys bound to a game will be lit, saving both power and enhancing ease of use and enjoyment.

Finally, two USB ports exist, as do a pair of audio connectors. Computex 2011 is when the official demo and release of the newcomer will be made.
