The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings – Enhanced Edition, the action and role playing mix created by CD Projekt RED, has managed to take the number one position on the United Kingdom market during its first week on sale, for the seven-day period that ends on April 21.

The new version of the game is designed to fix all the problems with last year’s The Witcher 2 while also adding two new quests for the last third of the game and including a tutorial for those who are only now getting to grips with the series.

FIFA Street, the EA Sports made football game that abandons big stadiums for street level action, has lost the first position in the chart, but it has only slid down one position to get second.

FIFA 12, another EA Sports creation that was launched in September 2011 and now has a new lease on life because of the upcoming Euro 2012 DLC, which will add new game modes and new national teams while keeping the same core gameplay mechanics, is on third place.

Kinect Star Wars, from LucasArts, occupies the fourth position in the United Kingdom video game chart while Mass Effect 3, the action role-playing game from BioWare and Electronic Arts, sits in the fifth place, down three positions over the previous week.

Tiger Woods PGA Tour 13, yet another EA Sports video game, is on the sixth position, also losing one place, while Battlefield 3, the first-person shooter that was created by DICE and published by, of course, EA, sits on seventh, climbing one place.

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, from Bethesda, is on eighth just as Mario & Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games from SEGA has the ninth place, where it seems destined to remain until the start of the real-world competition.

The United Kingdom top ten is closed down by Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, from Infinity Ward and Activision Blizzard.
