You still need the pad though

While some people would do anything to stay clear of radiations and all sorts of harmful fields, there are some who would do anything to be able to use mice without batteries.

Meet the Battery Free Wireless Optical Mouse, which has no batteries whatsoever. Don't be too happy though, it might not have batteries, but it has some nasty electronic field. I am exaggerating a bit, because apparently this field is not as dangerous as the one generated by a power line tower.

Here's the working principle. The mouse itself does not have wires, but you have to use it together with a special mat, which connects to the computer via USB. This mat generates an electronic field and this is where the mouse gets its power from.

Other than that, it's just an ordinary desktop rodent with two buttons and one scroll wheel. There are no details on stuff like DPI, so we'll have to trust the producer on that one.

If you fancy the Battery Free Wireless Optical Mouse, you can purchase it here for approximately 13 pounds or 25 dollars.

However, if you worry about the carpal tunnel strain, which doesn't care about batteries, then the Wow-Pen ECO, with its vertical design, might be the thing for you. As a quick reminder, you hold the Wow-Pen naturally, as you would a pen or pencil and this reduces fatigue to a great extent.

Since yesterday, I cannot talk about mice without mentioning the innovative "Magic Mouse" prototype, which might be the end of all mice, horizontal or vertical, as we know them. Who cares about carpal tunnel strain, batteries and stuff like that when you can just move your finger in the air and control the cursor on the screen?

We are just a few, but there are many of you, Softpedia users, out there. That's why we thought it would be a good idea to create an email address for you to help us a little in finding gadgets we missed. Interesting links are bound to be posted with recognition going mainly to those who submit. The address is .
