You have probably heard about the MX vs. ATV series of games published by THQ and you know it's one of the best racing franchises available on the market. And since neither game developers nor publishers will stop creating titles which bring them loads of cash, we have word that a new off-road racing game is in the works.

Developed by the core team members of the MX vs. ATV franchise, the title named BAJA: Edge of Control promises to be the ultimate off-road racing simulation which will allow players to conquer the toughest terrain Mother Nature has to offer and build the ultimate off-road vehicle. And if this does not sound really exciting to the fans of the genre, then nothing does.

However, since we all know that 100% real life-like simulations can get pretty boring sometimes, THQ promises that the game will have a bit of arcade action injected just to keep it as fun as possible. And if we consider that we will all have to race through open worlds of endless sand and hills areas, we can understand its decision to implement a bit of arcade in the game.

BAJA: Edge of Control will bring racing enthusiasts no less than 40 beautifully crafted vehicles, including Elite Trophy Trucks, 4x4's and Buggies as well as customization options for each of them and eight different vehicle classes. The open worlds I was talking about earlier will be impressive as well, since THQ promises to bring us more than 100 square miles of arid terrain and landscapes. Of course, since we have all the customization we can ask for from a game, we have the horse power and the racing circuits, we need worthy adversaries, too, so THQ implemented multiplayer gameplay for up to eight players online or four players in split screen mode. What do these all mean? That BAJA will be a hit when it gets released, on the 12th of September this year.
