Commodore Gaming has confirmed some time ago their plans of making a gaming optimized PC platform that will carry the name of the old Commodore, only this time, we're talking about 64 Bit, not 64 K. The Commodore 64 (64K) is the best selling single personal computer model of all timeS. It was released in August 1982 by Commodore Business Machines and was commonly referred to as the C64.

Now, Commodore Gaming has announced that CeBIT 2007 will see the launch of a new breed of gaming PCs, as the legendary Commodore label returns to the world of video games with ever higher optimization for the latest generation of video games.

Bala Keilman, CEO for Commodore Gaming stated that "25 years ago, Commodore launched the best selling personal computer of the late 20th Century, the C64, and defined the early computer games experience for millions of people worldwide." He continued: "We are privileged and excited to bring the Commodore brand back to the gaming community and mark a new chapter in its history with this exceptional machine. We're sure that it will deliver what gamers need and want."

This new range of optimised gaming PCs will be launched today, at the CeBIT show in Hannover, Germany. Although the Commodore name was associated to a very slow gaming machine from the '80s, it won't be the case from now on. Starting today, gamers worldwide have yet another gaming platform, perfectly tailored for the ultimate gaming experience and will be able to enjoy latest generation games available today, and games to come. Commodore Gaming will bring further details on their system at the launch, but until then, check out the pictures.
