The Queen Disapproves of Kate Middleton Posing for Vogue

Fashion lovers might be dying to see Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton on the cover of fashion bible Vogue, but there’s at least one member of her family who wouldn’t share in the enthusiasm: the Queen, says a new report.

Amidst talk that several major fashion publications are trying to get Kate for an exclusive interview and a cover, a new report suggests that the reason she may be holding back is because the Queen doesn’t approve.

In fact, she’s already turned down an offer from the British Vogue, Grazia Daily writes, and she might do the same with Anna Wintour’s offer.

“Kate is keenly conscious that while her new grandmother-in-law may not chide her for appearing on a Vogue cover... she would definitely not be amused, and Her Majesty is a real genius at making people squirm with simply a look or a ‘tut, tut’,” a palace source is quoted as saying.

Nevertheless, even if she’s not doing any fashion magazines just now, Kate is determined to go through with her and William’s plan of maintaining a more open relationship with the press.

This would be a first, but the two are reportedly set on putting their ideas to work as soon as possible, regardless who might be upset by them.

“Both William and Kate are free to be interviewed or photographed by whomever they choose,” another palace source is quoted as saying by the couple’s intention of keeping a more “casual” relationship with the media.

“They are a modern, progressive couple and I’m sure there will be lighter exchanges with the media in the future,” adds the same insider.

As we also reported a while back, various magazines were trying to get Kate for the cover, because she’s not only a gorgeous woman but also a style queen.

Of the lot, Vogue US was said to be the most aggressive suitor, with Anna Wintour herself taking charge of the negotiations.
