Verizon has just announced the availability of the first "Nokia Batman" phone, officially called Nokia 6205 The Dark Knight. With such a long (and quite funny) name, the new handset, that we first heard of two days ago, will try to appeal to the fans of both Nokia and Batman. That's because it's named after the upcoming Batman movie, which is planned to hit the theaters on July 17 in Australia, July 18 in the US and July 25 in the UK.

The new Nokia will be available starting June 15, only from Verizon Wireless' official website. With a two-year contract agreement, the handset will cost you $69.99, while the free-of-contract price has not been announced yet.

The features of Nokia 6205 The Dark Knight include a 2 inch internal display with 262K colors and 176 x 220 pixels, VZ Navigator, access to V CAST Music and V CAST Video, Bluetooth, Web capabilities, a 1.3 Megapixel camera, 58MB of internal memory and microSD card support. Also, being a special edition phone, the clamshell comes with The Dark Knight content like a "subtle emblem", a Joker playing card, wallpaper, animated screensavers, voice tones and a full movie trailer - which is not the full movie, of course, but it might still allay the "Batman hunger" fans might have.

As for the standard and non-Batmanized version of Nokia 6205, Verizon said it would be available starting July, after the Dark Knight movie is released. Its price and features are the same (save for the Batman content) and users will be able to get it both online, from Verizon's website, and from the carrier's stores across the country (Batman's country, that is).

With Christian Bale playing Batman (again), The Dark Knight movie is the sequel of Batman Begins, appeared back in 2005. At that time, Nokia didn't think of making a Batphone, but it's good (I guess) that it has done it now.
