If there was ever a mother that would take to fight every tabloid in the world, that would probably be Dina Lohan, Lindsay Lohan’s mother, they say. Still upset about her ex’s comments as to how Lindsay is addicted to prescription pills and that they’re staging an intervention to get her to rehab, Dina is talking to WENN to set the record straight on some other aspects as well.

First of all, we were all 23 at one point in our life, the star’s mother says. What this means is that Lindsay is still very young and, as such, entitled to make mistakes. Just because she happens to live every single day of her existence in the spotlight, that doesn’t mean she can’t put her foot in it every now and then, Dina insists. If people could just stop being so judgmental, they would probably see that Lindsay has it far worse than many other girls her age, and, then, they would understand and the actress would be left alone for once.

What’s even worse is that it’s Lindsay’s father nonetheless who spearheards the Lindsay backlash with his recent comments. “If you’ve ever lived a day in the life of my daughter you would probably cry. It hurts and it’s sad that one of her parent[s] goes on television and talks about her personal life – it’s personal. She’s doing fine I don’t talk personally about my daughter. Whatever Lindsay’s issues are, they are family issues. If she stumbles, she falls [and] she gets up. The press has really been silly they need to leave her alone. We were all 23 once.” Dina says in response to Michael Lohan’s statement.

However, leaving Lindsay alone is a piece of advice that everyone could consider taking. She is a very talented individual, so the world would be much better off if it just enjoyed Lindsay’s many gifts instead of judging her for aspects of her personal life, her mother continues by saying. A perfect example of how the world hates Lindsay for the mere sake of it is the critics’ reaction to her debut with Ungaro during the Paris Fashion Week, Dina argues.

“Lindsay called me after the Ungaro show crying happy tears, then the press tore her apart… The show was great. The press is just not very nice to us. She’s just a little girl. God gave her a gift and she’s just trying to create. Enjoy her movies, enjoy her fashion, just leave her alone.” Lindsay’s mother says for the same agency.
