Thanks to Twitter, fans now have the opportunity to interact with their idols and even, in some cases, give them a piece of their mind. For producer The-Dream, things took a rather unpleasant turn the other day, after he made a series of comments about singer Ciara and was then forced to delete his Twitter account following backlash from the fans, AceShowbiz writes.

In a recent interview, the music producer made the bold claim that Ciara’s latest album was literally her last shot at pop stardom – in other words, that the launch of the material will be a make it or break it type of situation. As he sees it, Ciara has already been granted several big breaks, which is more than what many other singers can boast of, so this should be her last opportunity at making music history. Should she fail, she’d probably slip off the radar in almost no time, The-Dream seems to imply.

“The-Dream upset Ciara’s fans following his comment on Parlour magazine which mentioned that Ciara’s upcoming album ‘Basic Instinct’ will be her last shot at pop stardom. ‘I think so. You only get so many times to, and I won’t say fail, but not achieve,’ he said in the interview. ‘There’s an expectation of where Ciara should be in her career. To others, she’s achieved but not to us, because we saw where her career was headed. But now she’s back on the horse. When she first came out I, like Lil Jon and Jazze Pha, understood exactly who she was. It was that whole Atlanta vibe because if I’m not Atlanta, no one is’,” AceShowbiz writes.

“‘I knew if I had a chance to get with her creatively, there’s a specific type of swagger that she’s got. Tricky and I did her whole album, but it’s not all shallow songs like ‘Ride.’ There’s play time but there’s substance too, it’s a great listen.’ Before shutting down the Twitter page, The-Dream reportedly managed to defend himself, writing ‘Look up the word context. And also become familiar with the phrase “taken out of context” it helps. I believed in Ciara when every1 else walked away &talked [expletive] I love her that’s my sister! Actions speak louder than words’,” the same e-zine further reports.

If The-Dream really did delete his Twitter account because of fan backlash, he wouldn’t be the first to do so in recent weeks. Only a few days ago, actress Emma Roberts was forced to do the same after appearing on Jay Leno with “Twilight” actor Robert Pattison and telling him to his face that, though she did love his hair, she was Team Jacob. For these words, she got such harsh abuse on Twitter that she eventually deleted her account without as much as saying a single word in response.
