A low-end candybar phone

Most of Pantech's products that were released in the US headed on to wireless carrier Cingular/AT&T and it looks like another one of these phones is soon to be available.

Recently, a Pantech mobile phone was approved by the Federal Communications Commission, dubbed the C150, and due to the 'C' included in the name, one can assume that it will also become available through Cingular/At&t.

Among other 'C' series mobile phones, Cingular will also be getting two new clamshells from Pantech, the C510 and the C600, which will most likely be more advanced than the C150.

This handset is going to be a pretty low-end mobile phone that will come at an affordable price or maybe even for free on a contract with the wireless carrier.

It will be a tri-band GSM mobile phone with support for the 850 and 1900 Mhz bands; it's showing up on FCC, which means that Cingular customers are very likely to be seeing this handheld in shops pretty soon.

There's not much info available at the time regarding the candybar phone and until Cingular or Pantech decide to make an official announcement and post some info on their websites, we can't really know what features this handset will include. But you can assume that, because of the low model number, it will only be packing the basic features.

It looks like most phone manufacturers are starting to focus on providing affordable phones for the ones that don't care much about advanced features. Users looking for a simple and affordable mobile phone will be happy to see this released, while more advanced users will have to look somewhere else in order to find a more appropriate handset.
