Orange and Research In Motion recently announced the introduction of the BlackBerry 8800 smartphone in Spain for Orange customers.

The BlackBerry 8800 smartphone features some of the most innovative and cutting edge technology, making it the ideal companion for today's mobile professional. Key features include an intuitive trackball navigation system, a full, highly tactile QWERTY keyboard and a built-in Global Positioning System (GPS), which, coupled with a mapping application such as BlackBerry Maps, allows users to pinpoint their current location and track the route to their target destination.

The BlackBerry 8800, like all BlackBerry smartphones, provides powerful and easy-to-use tools to help people stay organized and productive. In addition to a calendar, contact list, memo pad and task list, it allows user to access up to 10 supported personal and corporate email accounts.

The large, high resolution display allows the viewing of attachments, Internet content and media files in vivid color, including documents and graphic attachments in popular formats such as JPEG, Adobe PDF, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft PowerPoint. A built-in light-sensing technology automatically adjusts the screen and keyboard brightness according to the surrounding lighting environment.

In addition, the BlackBerry 8800 smartphone comes equipped with a multi-media player, stereo headset jack and a microSD memory card slot to allow users to store and play video and music files. It has a high-capacity battery giving users the ability to take care of business and still have plenty of power left over to relax with music, video clips or games.

The BlackBerry 8800 from Orange is a world-class smartphone that includes Voice Activated Dialing, enabling users to initiate a call with anyone in their contact list by simply speaking their name. In addition, the smartphone incorporates noise cancellation for enhanced audio performance, a high quality, low-distortion speakerphone, Bluetooth support and dedicated volume and mute keys to make talking on the move more comfortable.

Availability of the BlackBerry 8800 smartphone from Orange in Spain is expected in March 2007.
