The ZTE D90 mobile phone will be available in the future on the Canadian market. The handset prides with some evolved typing features which are meant to make text input easy even without a QWERTY keypad.

The first thing that proves to be striking on the ZTE D90 handset is obviously its keypad. Although not a QWERTY one, it proves to be quite large and reveal a large amount of possibilities. The ZTE D90 features Zi Corporation's eZiType software, which provides increased data input speed and accuracy. Moreover, the Digit Wireless Fastap keyboard manages to make text input easy and comfortable.

"Canadians are now sending more than 21 million person-to-person text messages each day. The ZTE D90 from TELUS merges the hottest mobile messaging and entertainment services with the award winning design of the Fastap keypad, and Zi Corporation's eZiType engine to deliver a highly functional and stylish device that is easy to use and helps our clients save time", said Stephen Ospalak, TELUS vice-president of Subscriber Devices.

The ZTE D90 is the first mobile phone in North America to support the Zi eZiType engine. This text input product features word completion, next word and phrase prediction and auto-correction of common misspellings and keyboard errors. Solutions come in English and French, the two languages used at the largest extent in Canada.

The phone also packs a 1.3 megapixel camera with zoom and nightmode, which will manage to provide images at a rather low quality. This device proves to be highly reliable even when it comes to entertainment. It comes with full support for Telus Mobile Music full track download service and TELUS Mobile Radio. Moreover, it also brings reliable internet services, including email, instant messaging and the carrier's location-based ones, such as Telus Navigator and Telus Kid Find.

ZTE D90 has just received the German design association's (Design Zentrum Nordrhein Westfalen) Red Dot Product Design Award. The mobile phone will be available from now on in all Telus retail stores for the price of USD 80, with a three-year contract, or at USD 230 without a contract.
