Canadian wireless carrier Telus announced on Monday the launch of BlackBerry Tour 9630, the latest handset that Research In Motion has brought to the market. The new device, the company announced, is set to become available on its airwaves as soon as this month, bearing the 3G CDMA/GSM connectivity options that it has been packed with.

“Telus is offering the ultimate stylish yet user-friendly smartphone line-up this summer. Travelers on-the-go can stay connected, productive and entertained while going to the cottage or traveling abroad,” said Joe Natale, president of Telus Consumer Solutions. "Telus clearly shows its commitment to offering customers the most popular and reliable email platforms available on the market.”

The new mobile phone, which has just been added to Sprint, Verizon and Bell's lineups, comes with a wide range of features, including 3G EVDO Rev A, HSPA, and quad-band EDGE connectivity meant to offer an enhanced experience when it comes to the professional life of the carrier's consumers that are on the go most of the time. Due to the fact that this is a world phone, users will be able to enjoy permanent connectivity while traveling around the world due to Telus international roaming.

The specification list of the device also includes a QWERTY keypad, a high-resolution display (480 x 360 pixel HVGA), a 3.2-megapixel photo snapper that sports geo-tagging, auto focus and flash, as well as support for photo sharing on popular sites such as Facebook or Flickr, as well as wireless modem capabilities, and support for Telus Navigator, Telus Visual Voice Mail, Telus mobile radio and more.

The BlackBerry Tour 9630 is also coming with a series of apps pre-installed on it, including a Facebook application, and also offers support for the BlackBerry App World, where users will be able to find even more software solutions to personalize their devices. The smartphone is already available for purchase with the carrier, featuring a price tag of $229.99 on a three-year contract, but it can be purchased free of contract as well, for $599.99.
