With OpenPeak touch-screen platform and multimedia IP interface

Telefonica Brazil is one carrier which chose to deliver a brand new innovative device to its users, in the form of Orby multimedia, touch-screen smartphone for the digital home. The new product comes to the market with a touch-screen platform and multimedia IP interface from OpenPeak, the provider of VoIP multimedia touch desktop telephony systems.

According to OpenPeak, its platform can deliver both efficiency and cost savings when it comes to a full-featured VoIP telephony system that also comes to the market with multimedia capabilities, not to mention Wi-Fi connectivity. Not only does Orby include a wide range of intuitive phone features, such as integrated phonebook, caller ID and call history, but it also sports SMS functionality, along with the capability of delivering dynamic digital content to users.

The device comes with great web features that enable it to deliver access to YouTube and online television, as well as to Terra Sonora online music service, to news, weather, photos, games and more. The Orby kit includes both a home base and a handset, and users can also add more handsets into the equation, so that they can access the base from anywhere in the home. The new OpenPeak device comes with an Intel Atom processor, sports 4GB of RAM and a 512MB hard drive, so that it can deliver a great multimedia experience with a low power consumption, the company added.

Telefonica Brazil also announced that the Orby kits can be purchased from select Saraiva stores in Morumbi, Ibirapuera, Center Norte, Higienopolis, and Analia Franco shopping malls in Sao Paulo. At the same time, users can also get it online, from the company's website.
