The smartphone is available for $250 (190 EUR) off-contract

Motorola launched only a few high-end Android smartphone, the handset maker released quite a slew of mid-range devices. Motorola FIRE XT was unveiled back in August and made its debut on the market one month later.

Initially launched in Europe, Motorola FIRE XT's availability was expanded to other regions as well, but the device was renamed, depending on the market.

Today, the device has been introduced in Mexico as Motorola SPICE XT. The Android-based smartphone is now available for free at Telcel stores on Mas por Menos 3 plan with an 18-month contract.

In addition, customers who want to avoid being tied by a long term contract can purchased the Motorola SPICE XT on pre-paid for $3,199 pesos (250 USD or 190 EUR).

Motorola SPICE XT is powered by Google's Android 2.3 Gingerbread with Moto Switch user interface that allows users to quickly change between personal and working modes.

The smartphone sports a large 3.5-inch capacitive touchscreen that supports 320 x 480 pixels resolution and 262k colors. The SPICE XT is packed with with several sensors that provides users with a smoother experience when handling the phone: accelerometer, proxomity and compass.

Users can capture and share their memories thanks to the phone's 5-megapixel rear camera, which features auto-focus and built in flash. A secondary VGA front facing camera for video calls is available as well.

One of SPICE XT's selling point is the best-in-class battery life, allowing users to talk for 8 hours or have 21 days of standby in 3G mode.
