Until not long ago, not many knew who Courtney Stodden was. Now, the 16-year-old aspiring singer is a celebrity, after her hushed wedding to 51-year-old actor Doug Hutchison this spring. Stodden believes an interview with her is worth $3 million, as Gawker has learned.

Radio producer Jeremy Baumhower contacted Hutchison via email to ask him, his wife and hopefully his mother-in-law too to do a radio tour across the country in the hope that it might boost Courtney’s singing career.

The email exchange that ensued is downright hilarious, Gawker says, pointing that it believes Courtney was actually the one writing back to Baumhower.

“We would ask for 2-3 hours and you would be in front of 10 to 20M people. We would make every show play Courtney’s music and you can promote anything you wish,” the radio producer offered in the first email.

Doug’s (or Courtney’s, if Gawker is right) response came back like a blow to the nether regions: “we want 3 million to appear,” the email said.

Disappointed, Baumhower tried to reason with the person at the other end, saying he would pay this kind of money if he had it, but adding that he was offering lots of exposure for Courtney as a singer – which was perhaps better than money.

“too bad,” the response was. Then, the radio producer, realizing that there was no way to get a reponse in the positive, wished the newlywed couple well and said goodbye.

“we want money,” said the final email from Hutchison. After word of this got out in the press and voices started saying that it was Courtney who was actually writing the hilarious responses, the 51-year-old actor issued a statement to say he’d been hacked.

“I’ve changed my password, my security question, nothing seems to work. So I surrendered – I cancelled all of my AOL accounts that I’ve had for 13 years,” he is quoted as saying.

Useless to say, not many were convinced of his “I’ve been hacked” excuse.
