Ted Williams, the homeless man nicknamed “Golden Voice” who became an Internet sensation and got a second shot at fame and a wonderful life, is back in rehab, after a failed attempt at getting cleaned up earlier this year.

However, this time there’s a difference: no stranger to drugs and alcohol abuse, Williams is not seeking help for either of these problems now, his rep says in a statement cited by PopEater.

In fact, his current rehab stint has nothing to do with addiction: Ted is simply too exhausted and needs to take some time off to deal with unspecified emotional issues.

As we also reported some time ago, Ted is now shooting for the first season of his own reality show (it’s not out yet), while he’s also doing what he does best with his Golden Voice: voiceovers for various commercials.

This and the strain of being in the spotlight have eventually taken a toll on him and he needs some time off.

“All of the shooting for his reality show has taken a serious toll on him,” Williams’ manager, Al Battle, explains.

It has nothing to do with addiction, regardless of what reports in the media may claim.

“This is not a trip back to rehab because of a drug or alcohol relapse. It’s all emotional. Ted is exhausted,” Battle underlines.

It’s only natural for the manager to emphasize that the rehab visit is neither drug nor alcohol-related, since this is the second time in only a few months that Williams seeks help at one of these facilities.

In fact, in January this year, he reportedly walked out of rehab despite the fact that he was yet to complete the treatment and doctors had warned him not to leave, as we also noted at the time.

“It was more of an emotional thing. He just needed to get back to his psychologists,” Battle adds.

Reports online have it that Williams’ show is so promising that, even though it’s yet to air, there’s already talk of a second season. As such, it makes for him to be feeling the strain and exhaustion.
