Unlockable items removed for these players

Games can be quite difficult sometimes, as a lot of developers believe that their target audience is already one filled with experienced players that already have reflexes and know how to get past certain obstacles. But because some gamers lack the necessary skill or, far worse, don't want to actually live the true experience of the game, they resort to cheating.

Whether it is to unlock achievements, items, weapons or to be invincible, cheating occurs in a lot of video games. But while a lot of players tend to use certain codes or exploits to get past the single-player campaign of video games, there are a few who use programs or glitches in the game to beat other people who are playing fair and square.

Such is the case with the very popular Team Fortress 2 online shooter, which was victim to a few glitches in the system, which in turn allowed players to maneuver weapons that didn't belong to their class. Of course, some people decided to take advantage of the exploit and start ruining the experience of others. But don't worry, as the Valve team, which is responsible for TF2, has posted the punishment that the cheating players will receive in a very unique way.

“It saddens me that despite my best efforts to instruct and better you, some of you insist on finding new ways to fail. We have sounded the alert and released a quick fix for an exploit that some unscrupulous players were using to wield items on invalid classes. I have considered an appropriate punishment for the good-for-nothings responsible for this horrendous breach of conduct. Death, of course - but death is too good for disappointments such as these. Instead, their unlockable items have been removed for a month. To the majority of you who did not see fit to cheat, you have my congratulations: I await the countless other ways you will inevitably disappoint me in the future,” reads the blog post signed the TF2 Announcer.

So it definitely seems that the cheaters got what they had coming to them and will regret that they decided to exploit problems in the game. Hopefully less and less people will resort to cheating and we can all play fair in the future.
