TRENDnet continues its assault on the high-speed networking device market with the release of a new powerline adapter that can reach speeds of 500Mbps while also providing users with four Gigabit Ethernet ports to connect all their networked media devices.

This can include gadgets such as Internet televisions, NVRs, Receivers, and game consoles, all of these requiring high-speed network access for streaming HD video and other media files.

In order to ease the installation process, TRENDnet's 4-Port 500Mbps Powerline AV adapters are configured to connect automatically to each other when they get plugged into the same electrical system.

Furthermore, the connection is automatically encrypted for added data safety and the security keys can be easily changed by just pressing the Sync button present on one of the adapters.

On the top side of the device, a series of LED light are present to convey the device status for easy power management and troubleshooting.

Other features include an embedded power saving technology that lowers power consumption by up to 70% when in stand-by mode, neighbor network support for up to 4 overlapping networks, as well as auto QoS support through traffic classification and multiple priority queuing.

"Network ready Internet televisions now make up to 50% of total television sales in select markets," stated Sonny Su, Director of Technology for TRENDnet.

"The need to connect multiple media center devices to the Internet is already here and we are excited to be able to bring compelling Powerline solutions to market," concluded the company's rep.

The 4-Port 500Mbps Powerline AV Adapter, model TPL-405E, comes with a three year limited warranty and will be available from TRENDnet's online and retail partners this December. Pricing has been set at $109.99.
