Even though little is known about TOCA 3, DEFCON and Darwinia, their developers revealed they have decided to further improve them, and have signed a contract with Philips in this regard.

Both Codemasters and Introversion have reached separate agreements with Philips for using the amBX system in the upcoming games. By this agreement, both developers will use a special scripting language that will "redefine the experience of playing games by extending the game world of the screen and into the real world".

Codemasters will use amBX in TOCA Race Driver 3, while Introversion will use this system in DEFCON and Darwinia. All of these titles will be available for PCs so I'd like to see any other platform supporting amBX. The PS3 has a good chance but no word is out regarding any console support for these games.

Codemasters and Introversion are not the only game developers to use this feature, as other famous developers like THQ, Kuju Entertainment, Revolution Software and Sumo Digital have walked this path before.

I'm sure you have all heard something about TOCA Race Driver 3, but now your whole TOCA experience will change. The features of this game will be enhanced by using the Philips amBX peripherals, you will feel the wind in your hair by using the amBX fans and see the tunnel lights through the amBX LED lights.

DEFCON will use the Philips peripherals to simulate global thermonuclear warfare. Players will be able to feel the ground rumble by using the amBX rumble pad. Darwinia players will also have the ultimate gaming experience, as players will take advantage to the fullest of the amBX LED light, desk fan and rumble peripherals.
