Palm, Inc. announced on Tuesday that its Treo Pro smartphone could be purchased from TELUS in Canada. The handset is able to provide users in the country with a high-resolution color touchscreen, as well as full web-browsing capabilities, while running under the Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional operating system, proving to be a great option for both business users and consumers.

The Palm Treo Pro comes with both simplicity and productivity. It offers support for TELUS mobile email and TELUS Navigator, while also including Wi-Fi, web and 3G network capabilities, so as to be able to provide all the functionalities any businessman or consumer would need. In addition, it comes with a thin design that mixes style and functionality through an LCD touchscreen, one-touch buttons and a full QWERTY keyboard.

Users who acquire a Treo Pro will be able to open ZIP files, edit Microsoft Word and Excel documents and view PowerPoint presentations and PDFs. At the same time, it offers compatibility with System Center Mobile Device Manager 2008, providing IT professionals with the possibility to manage Windows Mobile phones the same way they would manage desktop PCs or laptops.

Users will also be able to enjoy dedicated email and calendar buttons for fast one-button access, ringer switch, which silences the device immediately, one-touch Wi-Fi button, screen saver and new voicemail indicator, as well as technologies like Microsoft Direct Push, Microsoft System Center Mobile Device Manager 2008 and integrated GPS.

Furthermore, they will also have a wide range of applications at hand, developed to work on Windows Mobile and extend mobility beyond email to optimize business processes. Those who would like to purchase the device from TELUS would have to pay $149.99 upon the signing of a three-year contract agreement with the operator.
