TELUS Intros Promotional $30 6GB Data Add-on, Limited to Quebec Customers

In direct response to Bell, TELUS has just debuted a promotional 6GB data add-on for only $30, which is exclusively available to customers in Quebec.

The current promotion will run from June 29 through July 31 and will be available for all new, existing and renewing customers.

Furthermore, it appears that only existing customers are eligible for 3-year hardware data promotional pricing.

TELUS does not offer the 3-year promotional pricing with any of the Data add-ons for smartphones to new customers.

However, new customers who wish obtain the 3-year promotional pricing on smartphones must select one of the Clear Choice Smartphone plans.

Upon paying the $30 monthly fee, customers will receive 6GB of data usage, tethering included. Overage is set to 5c/MB for data/tethered and $3/MB for US roaming.

Customers can choose to pay for a monthly subscription, 1-year, 2-years or for a 3-year term agreement.

Even though TELUS is a national carrier, it appears that the offer is regional, as it is limited to Quebec customers who have Consumer and Business Personal accounts with 5 subscribers or less on any Consumer plan.

The data add-on is available on all devices (including iPhones) on CDMA and 4G networks.

Although, TELUS is among the first to introduce such a promotional 6GB data add-on, the latest hearsay suggests that Virgin, Videotron and Rogers will offer a similar promo in the near future.

Although WIND and Mobilicity have better deals for their customers as they are offering unlimited data usage for only $10 per month, their coverage cannot be compared.

It is also worth mentioning that TELUS offers 6GB of unthrottled data usage and that the promo is similar to Videotron's regional carrier.

TELUS' new promotional 6GB data add-on is an excellent deal if we take into consideration the carrier large coverage, but becomes overpriced in areas where WIND offers its unlimited data plans for $10.

But those who do not want to be stuck in a WIND home zone should definitely go for this promo.
