Wireless charging is definitely a nice concept and if TDK has it its way we will soon be able to juice up many of our devices without requiring any wires.

The Japanese company showcased such a pair of headphones at this year's CEATEC fair and it seemed to work quite well.

Unlike the regular wireless charges that are used for today's smartphones and rely on inductive charging, TDK's concept used the much more impressive magnetic resonance technology.

Compared with inductive charging, this technology allows TDK to put some distance between the base and the battery operated device, the prototype showcased working at a few inches from the charger.

In addition to the headphones prototype, TDK also showcased a wireless charged toy car.

Right now, we don't know when this technology will actually make it into production, or if TDK plans to build any wirelessly charging boom boxes. (via Geek)
