Crystal Harris will no longer marry Hugh Hefner, calling off the wedding days before it should’ve taken place

In what is said to be one of the most embarrassing public blows Hugh Hefner has been dealt in years, the latest cover for Playboy magazine, showing ex-fiancée Crystal Harris as “Mrs. Crystal Hefner,” is out.

Crystal posed for the July 2011 issue of the popular men’s mag, which will come out after the date when she was supposed to have married the media mogul – after this Saturday, when their wedding should have taken place, had she not called it off.

The cover, a photo of which you can see here, shows Crystal on a chair, rocking one of the sailing caps that Hugh is so fond of, what looks like his robe and, of course, his pipe.

A caption next to it reads, “America’s Princess: Introducing Mrs. Crystal Hefner,” a clear reference to how she became a princess because she landed her dream prince.

As it happens, the cover is a major “oopsie” because it comes out just hours after Crystal has announced that she’s no longer marrying Hef this weekend.

Reports have it that she’s already found someone else (someone younger and who would allow her a bigger allowance, Dr. Phil’s son) or that the entire thing was a PR stunt, as we also noted earlier today.

However, the damage has been done: the entire issue of the mag has been constructed around the idea that it would come out after the wedding, leaving Hefner just with one solution.

He’s never done it before and he will most probably never do it again: Hefner will add a sticker to the cover when it’s out on newsstands, he says on his Twitter.

“Recent events call for a special sticker on the July cover,” the mogul says, attaching a photo with a large sticker reading “Runaway bride in this issue!” placed above Crystal’s midsection.

Also on Twitter, Hefner says he remains completely on the outside as to why Crystal called off the wedding, saying she’s taking the time to explain it to everybody but he “still [doesn’t] have a clue.”
