Tuesday evening, Susan Boyle returned home to Blackburn, Scotland, after a brief stay in London, where she recorded her bit for a charity song for Haiti relief, an effort coordinated by Simon Cowell. Accompanied by a female friend who dropped her off, the singer had quite a shock when an identified man who had broken into her house rushed past her, The Sun writes.

Luckily, Susan was not harmed in any way, but she is understandably shaken, especially since this is the second time in a few months that something like this happens. It is not yet known whether the intruder also took something from the house, but it is believed he got scared when he saw the singer coming and just thought of making a run for it. He was taken into custody, questioned and then, as per ongoing reports, released with a warning.

“Susan got home to find an intruder halfway up her stairs. She was with a female pal, who was dropping her off. Her pal only expected to be with her for a couple of minutes, but it is just as well she was. Susan is unharmed but is obviously very very shocked. The guy has seen her come in and bolted out straight past Susan,” a female friend of the singer reveals for the British tabloid. Police have already confirmed the report, saying they were summoned to Susan’s house over reports of a disturbance.

Other British media outlets are saying that the intruder, a boy believed to be no older than 15-16, has already been released with just a warning. The singer herself did not spent Tuesday night at home but at a friend, and returned home only this morning. Her brother is worried about her safety, telling the Daily Mail she should be offered more protection unless she ends up the same way as John Lennon, who was killed by a crazed fan.

As also noted above, this is the second time that Susan Boyle has intruders on her property. Over Christmas, she caught two men peering inside her house through the kitchen window, an incident she reported to the police. She has had an extra alarm system installed shortly after.
