Such a special appearance has long been rumored, with Simon Cowell of American Idol even promising fans that Susan Boyle would get a number one album if she managed to land an appearance on Oprah. Now, she has, Entertainment Tonight informs, and it’s bound to make her popularity soar even more than her incredible voice and her stunning performance on BGT have, it has been said.

Simon Cowell, a fixture on both American Idol and the British counterpart (of sorts) Britain’s Got Talent, will be a special guest on Oprah’s upcoming show, specifically with the purpose of introducing the artists he considers the next biggest things in music industry. Quite understandably, Susan Boyle will also be featured, as she will allow cameras inside her home in Scotland to have a “sit down” with the Queen of Television, as Oprah is often referred to in the media.

“The singing sensation Susan Boyle and the man who judges her on Britain’s Got Talent, Simon Cowell, are coming on Oprah Winfrey’s show for a special episode.” ET says. “In an episode titled ‘The Oprah Winfrey Show: The World’s Got Talent,’ Simon will address the rumors of him leaving American Idol, while Susan welcomes cameras into her home in Scotland for her debut appearance on Oprah’s program. In addition to Susan, Simon will also debut artists from around the world that he calls ‘the next big thing’.” it is further being said.

As of now, whether Susan Boyle will also perform has not yet been disclosed. Even if she doesn’t, several music-oriented publications say, she will still receive the best kind of publicity that money can buy by scoring just a couple of minutes on the popular show. The special episode will air on May 11. To understand just how popular Oprah’s show is (granted there still are some of you who don’t know), when the television star offered special KFC coupons on her website to all her fans in the US, she nearly caused a riot with the fast food giant as it ran out of chicken.

“Some customers were upset because they couldn’t get their chicken, but there was no riot.” KFC spokesman Laurie Schalow says for the Daily Mail, adding that the combination of poor economy and Oprah’s popularity created “the perfect storm.” “We prepared for it. We didn’t prepare for this extreme. A lot of restaurants experienced very, very heavy traffic with people trying to redeem the coupons.” Schalow adds.
