Despite making her big stage debut on the first date of the Britain’s Got Talent live tour to a standing ovation and the cheers of the fans, Susan Boyle had to be pulled out of the series of concerts on account of exhaustion, the Daily Mail informs. According to a press statement released by the organizers, the Scottish singer was no longer able to cope with the pressure and was told to rest after performing three dates in just two days.

Susan did not perform in Manchester on Saturday night, but it is believed she will have recuperated and rested enough to take the stage in Edinburgh tonight, when she’ll sing the two tracks that made her so popular with millions of fans around the world while still a contestant on Britain’s Got Talent. Furthermore, it is believed she is now at a secluded location to avoid more media attention, which is presumably one of the things that have brought her in this state, the other being the immense pressure from fans and the music industry, and her living in dread she might disappoint.

“Just two weeks ago the 48-year-old checked into a private clinic suffering from exhaustion. Family members said she was having difficulty coping with the immense pressure and public interest in her.” the Mail writes, citing reports coming from Susan Boyle’s camp. Fans gathered at Saturday’s show, while sad to hear the news that they would not be seeing precisely the woman they came to hear, were extremely supportive of her and decided not to ask for their money back from the tour organizers.

“It’s disappointing, but it’s not the end of the world. I’m sure the rest of the show will be brilliant. Everyone knows she’s had her problems and they have got a lot of shows to do. We won’t be asking for our money back. I just hope she’s OK. I hope the people running this get her whatever help she needs.” one concert-goer says for the British publication, presumably echoing the sentiment of many.

As we also reported, on Friday night, Susan Boyle took the stage at the Birmingham National Indoor Arena as part of Britain’s Got Talent tour. The moment she stepped in front of the microphone, the entire audience was on their feet, cheering her on until all trace of nervousness in her disappeared. Reports later had it that she was in talks with unnamed “corporate clients” to cash in as much as £100,000 for a 12-minute set.
